Roof Protection Plan Benefits
- Annual Roof Evaluation: includes a total roof inspection evaluating all items on the checklist including (but not limited to): All flashings, protrusions, vents, valleys, hips, ridges, and shingles.
- Any minor vulnerabilities discovered during the roof inspection will be sealed up and repaired.
- *Minor repairs will be performed with no labor charge to Plan holder.
- Touch-up and repaint protrusions where faded.
- Larger repairs (less than 5 squares) will be repaired with no labor charge to the Plan holder.
- Any exposed nails will be sealed up.
- Roof ventilation, granule retention and overall shingle condition will be evaluated and rated annually.
- The evaluator will look to identify any possible future vulnerabilities to help protect against future leaks.
- Priority scheduling for any emergency dry-in situation, roof repairs, and roof replacements.
- Priority emergency storm response.
- A dedicated local professional you can trust assigned to your personal Plan always available to answer questions about your roof.
- All fees received can be applied to future re-roofs as a credit for money already paid.
*Minor repairs are defined as any repair that requires less than 3 bundles of shingles. Repairs requiring more than 3 bundles will require a free repair estimate at a discounted rate.
Roof damage resulting from catastrophic and/or major weather events are not covered under the Roof Protection Plan, however the funds in your re-roof account will be applicable to all re-roofs. All major repairs resulting from a catastrophic and/or major weather event, that require less than a total re-roof, will be handled on a case by case basis at a discounted rate.
Questions and Answers
*Every warranty is different. This answer derived from experience with the “typical” manufacturer’s warranty in these situations. Consult with your manufacturer for warranty information.
Manufacturer warranties cover material defects only. Most manufacturer warranties do not cover labor after the first year, and pro-rate the materials after 7 years. Mainly though, most manufacturer warranties are only ever used AFTER there is a problem, because they are not detected until there is a leak, and unfortunately most do not cover any other damages caused by the leak (insulation, ceiling, walls, floors, etc.)
*Every warranty is different. This answer is derived from experience with the “typical” roofing contractor labor warranty in these situations.
The industry standard for roofing labor warranties is 3 years for re-roof and 1 year for new construction. These warranties typically only cover problems due to poor workmanship. Although these warranties are helpful and effective, typically these warranties are only ever used AFTER there is a problem, because they are not detected until there is a leak, and unfortunately most do not cover any other damages caused by the leak (insulation, ceiling, walls, floors, etc.)

Although most policies have some sort of coverage for the damage done by the water, they typically only cover the roof in the case of storm damage (wind, hail, ice, etc.). Unfortunately, due to the unstable climate, and continuous severe storm perils associated with our area, deductibles are very high, and many policies have reduced the overall roof coverage on most homes to offset the cost of the many claims paid every year. Many insurance companies can also cancel you if you have more than 3 claims in a 5-year period. This make filing minor roof claims very costly for the homeowners. Again, this will only kick AFTER there is a problem.

You simply pay a low annual due that can be auto debited from your account. This way you do not have to worry about remembering to renew, however we will remind you every year when you perform your annual free evaluation and preventive maintenance seal-up.
One of the exciting benefits of the Roof Protection Plan is your Re-roof Account. Every dollar that you spend on annual dues, etc., you will be able to apply to your new roof when that day comes. No matter if the new roof is a result of normal wear and tear, or a severe weather event (hail, tornado, etc.), when we install your new roof, you can apply all of the funds previously paid in to the project.
